Public
Observation @ The EAS joins
several other Astronomy clubs in the area (like the Louisville A.S., Stonebelt Astronomers, and Indiana A.S.) at the Newton
Stewart area at Patoka Lake to present programs to the public and set up
solar scopes at the Visitors Center during the afternoon, and numerous
telescopes at the beach later that evening for the public to view the wonders
of the Milky Way, Jupiter with its moons and cloud bands, galaxies, nebulas,
globular star clusters, supernova remnants, and planetary nebulas. After the
public leave, astronomy club members are invited to stay and observe to their
hearts content. |
